Panna: Video Recipes & Classes App Reviews

Panna must have a bug in my IPad. It will not quit, cancel, stop, disappear or run. First impression not very good.

What I mean by my title is that I used to LOVE this app! I raved about in fact. I got this app for my mother to help broaden her kitchen experience. But when I received a notice recently that my subscription will be automatically extended at $22 (I think it was) I realized that neither of us has really used this app and continuing a subscription is rather pointless. The thing is, I cant for the life of me figure out how to d/c my subscription. I bought the subscription as an in app purchase but now have no way to stop it. They mention connecting to a web page but I never have but went to it hoping for a way out but every single time I try to fill in my email with the intention of hitting "forgot my password" its pure insanity. The sign in box wont stay in one place on the page long enough for you to enter even your email address. It is the most strange and irritating thing Ive come across in quite a while!!! While this app may be great, I have NO desire to be stuck paying for it forever! If anyone reading this has any answers, PLEASE do share!!!

The recipes are diverse and of very high quality. It helps to really know your way around in the kitchen as a good percentage of the recipes are intermediate to advanced. The step by step instructions and videos for every recipe make it the perfect way to pick up these kitchen skills and give you the tasty food results you are looking for. My one complaint is that there is no nutrition and calorie information in the recipes. For someone who is eating healthy and watching calorie intake this can be frustrating. These end up being “cheat meal” only affairs for me!

Downloading recipes is very slow take 10 minutes or more by time its finished downloading. I pay 14.99 a year and dont even get all the recipes free. Good thing bout it good recipes. Downloading it something else.

It does not appear to let you log in to your existing account. Unless Im missing but I looked everywhere.

I was a little concern about Panna remaking the app because I REALLY like the original format but this makeover is quite user-friendly and makes finding recipes easier and having Chef Tips on the Home Page is my favorite change!!! Keep it coming Panna -- yall do fabulous work!!!

Very cool app love the step by step directions. I would definitely recommend it to and for any guy that want to show his special lady that you can show a old dog new trick or the guy thats trying to win over that special person. Also I would recommend this app to anyone wanting to learn how to cook outstanding dishes. The only thing I would change is the fact that you have to pay.

AWESOME! Easy to use and the chefs are very knowledgeable

Not updated for iPhone 6 / 6 plus size 18 months after their release. Extremely poor scrolling performance. They do some weird stuff with scrolling where you feel that the content is moving under your fingers. Edge swipe to go back gesture does not work. The quality of the app overall is not great.

Save your money and just go buy a book on Amazon. This apps lacks useful recipes. I threw away $20 w this app.

Cant search recipes, so what is the use of the "app"? Deleting now.

Although the app has undergone changes over the last year, the videos and recipes continue to be excellent and interesting. The recipes from Sebastian Rouxel are amazing-- perfect macaroons the first time. There is a nice variety of cuisines: Korean, Spanish, Indian, Mexican, Vietnamese Panna offers excellent instruction and a very good value if you like learning through video. Lots of big name chefs if you are into that sort of thing-- I just like interesting recipes. Everything I have made so far has been amazing. The interface has gotten better and they seem to produce new content regularly. I am old school, and actually preferred the magazine format, so it has taken a bit for this new style to grow on me (it can feel overwhelming to see all the recipes). I subscribed via their website. I think there is a free trial so you can see if the style and format works for you. Some chefs are more charismatic than others, others are more organized in presentation. I have found a few favorites both in chefs and recipes. I also enjoy the fact there are drinks recipes included (booze!) and clips on cheese and wine. I agree with another reviewer about wanting an easy way to export ingredients and recipes. I am an intermediate home cook who likes to prepare and eat a variety of cuisines.

This app STOLE my money! I downloaded it and used the free trial, knowing it would charge me automatically if I let it renew. After looking around on the app for about 10 minutes, I decided I didnt like it and deleted it. I went on the website to cancel the subscription. After logging in to my account, I read the specific instructions on how to cancel the subscription. They claimed that there is a menu titled Purchase History, and there is an option there to toggle automatic subscription. That option DOES NOT EXIST. I assumed the app did not automatically renew my subscription, and exited. Today I received a bill for $20 (what is that even for? The whole year is $22, one month is $1.99...are you just stealing my money?). I went on the website back to my account, and the page had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to subscribe. There is still no option to turn on automatic renewal. THIS APP IS A SCAM. They steal your money, hoping you dont notice. They are thieves. Dont trust the developers or anyone involved under any circumstance. I DEMAND a refund. This is ridiculous. 10 minutes on the app costed me $20. Just trying this app was a mistake.

This app has extraordinary potential, but frequent glitches and crashes make it difficult to use.

Don’t subscribe! Hard to access, navigate and cancel! So frustrating!!!

Nowhere in the description do the makers of this app tell you that your access to recipes is based on a $20/year subscription. Im sure its a lovely app; it looks to be beautifully implemented. But I wouldnt have installed had I known that it wanted to take money from my bank account--however reasonable an amount, based on whats offered--on a regular basis.

I love watching famous chefs prepare their favorite recipes.

I have been a subscriber since the launch of Panna and kept hoping that the app and web experience would get better. It hasnt and I will not renew after my current term is done.

If I could rate less stars I would. I have had this app deleted off of my phone for over 3 months and am still monthly charged a "subscription fee" for what exactly Im not sure???????????
